Doris Dorothy & Ted Bate
Totally unidentified
Here's one of quite a few photographs that no one thought to write any information on the back and so unless somebody has similar pictures of these people I will never know who or where they were . I guess with all the technology out there some things will always remain a mystery.

The family of William Henry Broughton in Sheffield
Mrs W.H.Broughton,Margaret & Geoff |
So to the people in the actual photograph now . We have William's wife Mary Ellen (nee Spry ) who was born about 1884 . We also have William and Mary's children Margaret Spry Broughton (born 1909 who went on to marry Francis J Pringle in 1930.) and Geoffrey Cornish Broughton who was born 25th September 1914 ( and died in April 1987). Judging by the children's ages it would seem this photograph was took in the early 1920's.

John Cross From Earnslow Grange Sandiway 1915
Photograph taken Whit Monday (24th May) 1915
From just ther brief above information I was able to locate John Cross on both the 1901 and 1911 census . Earnslow Grange being the Cross family's farm in Sandiway . John was baptised 17th September 1893 in Whitegate, Cheshire and died 8th May 1964 at Sandiway Bank Farm, Northwich , Cheshire. I have no knowledge of why my Grandmother cut this picture . I have discovered John Cross in 2 trees on Ancestry.com and have notified the tree owners that I have uploaded the above photograph here.

Fred Yarwood Funeral October 1918
The following article was found on page 7 of the October 5th 1918 edition of the Warrington Guardian Newspaper.
SUICIDE ON EVE OF MARRIAGE
TRAGIC END OF FORMER RESIDENT
The funeral took place at St. Thomas' Church , on Tuesday , of Mr.Fred Yarwood,
son of Mr. John Yarwood , of the Mill Farm, Stanthorne, near Middlewich, formally of Cobbs Farm, Stockton Heath. Mr. Yarwood, who was 25 years of age, was found dead in the farm yard on Friday last week . A double-barrel gun was between his legs, whilst there was a gunshot wound in the mouth. At the inquest held before Mr. H. C. Yates, coroner, on Monday last, deceased's father said that his son was employed by him as a teamsman. He suffered from occasional headaches due to having been kicked on the forehead by a horse about eight years ago.
In reply to the Coroner, witness said that his son had been passed Grade 3, but that had not the slightest effect upon him. He added that his son was accustomed to using a sporting gun which was kept in the kitchen. Only a few days before his death he was out shooting rats.
Replying to the Coroner, witness said his son was to have been married on Sunday, October 6th.
The Coroner - Had there been any unpleasantness between him and the young lady?
Witness - No, but there was something wrong.
Frank Sutton, aged 15, said he found the deceased lying on his back in the farmyard. Blood was running from his mouth, and witness went and told the workmen.
P.C. Wright said he found the deceased lying in a pool of blood. The butt end of a gun was level with his knees, and the barrel was raised up towards his mouth. There was a spent cartridge in the right barrel of the gun.
A verdict of "Suicide whilst of unsound mind" was returned.
